New hope for rapid dementia diagnosis

A new laser-based test has the potential to diagnose dementia in “less than five minutes”.
The project, which has been a collaboration between University Hospital Southampton and the University of Southampton, has had promising results in an initial trial. Currently, diagnosis can take two years or more, but the new approach could allow for much prompter and more effective treatment.
